Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Sudoku Generator handles when you use it. In short: the site has no accounts and does not collect personal data itself, and the only third party involved is Google, which measures visits (Google Analytics) and serves advertising (Google AdSense).

What this site stores

Sudoku Generator does not ask you to register, does not have accounts, and does not send the puzzles you generate anywhere. Puzzles are created in your browser. We do not set any cookies ourselves. Google's consent tool may store your consent choice in a cookie on this site's domain and, depending on that choice, Google Analytics and Google's advertising may set cookies and similar identifiers there too (see below).

To remember your preferences, the site saves two small values in your browser using localStorage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us:

Analytics

To understand how many people use the site and which pages and devices matter, we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google. When you allow it, Google Analytics records which pages you view, roughly where you are (country and region, not your address), your browser, operating system and screen size, how you arrived at the site and how long you stay. It uses a cookie on this site's domain to tell visits apart. It does not see the puzzles you generate, and we do not link the data to a name or an account. Google Analytics does not store full IP addresses, and the advertising features of Google Analytics (Google signals and ad personalisation) are turned off.

Until you have made a choice, or if you decline analytics, no analytics cookie is set and Google Analytics receives only limited, cookieless signals without any identifier that recognises you between visits. We use the result as aggregate statistics only.

Advertising and cookies

The site is supported by advertising from Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure how ads perform, and, where you allow it, to personalise them. These cookies are set by Google's scripts, not by this site's own code, and they are subject to Google's own policies.

Consent

Where the law requires it, you are asked for your consent before any ad is loaded or any analytics cookie is set. The request is shown by Google's consent management platform (Funding Choices). Until you have made a choice, no advertising scripts run and no advertising or analytics cookies are set. Where Google's consent tool offers it, you can change or withdraw your decision later through its privacy options. You can also clear this site's cookies in your browser settings; you will then be asked again where consent is required.

Data sharing and retention

This site does not sell or rent personal data, and it does not collect any itself. Information that Google handles for analytics and for advertising is retained under Google's policies; Google Analytics is set to keep its event-level data for a limited period only. Visit statistics are shown to us in aggregate. The two localStorage values above remain in your browser until you delete them.

Children

The site is a general puzzle site and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If the way the site handles data changes, for example if another analytics or advertising service is added, this page will be updated before the change takes effect.
